taking self-expression too far?

i'm watching the tyra banks (i don't like her, by the way) show and her guests are families that let their kids live their lives as the opposite sex. i wouldn't let my child live as the opposite sex at such a young age. i wouldn't even let my child be in a relationship with someone of the same sex at least until they were in high school and have the maturity to understand their own feelings about homosexuality. you may think this is hypocritical, considering that i'm gay. but, that is just too much for a child to take on at that age.
